iOS 11 has been released recently, but it already received some important updates so far. Therefore, users are already looking forward to iOS 12. While it might seem a bit too soon to talk about iOS 12, Apple is already planning to release a preview of the next iOS in June.

iOS 12 release date

We already know that we will receive a preview mid-2018, so it should not take too much until they also release it. If we take a look at the previous launches it is safe to say that a possible iOS 12 release might take place in September 2018.

Before its proper release, users should receive a beta version so they can try out the new version. It is also very likely that Apple will release iOS 12 when they release a new iPhone, and there’s a chance that we might finally receive iPhone 9 next year.

iOS 12

Obviously it is hard to tell what will be the new additions of iOS 12 will be since Apple has not even released. However, we can make a few guesses. For example, it is very likely that iOS 12 will bring all the features that were supposed to come with iOS 11.

iOS 12 might finally bring dark mode. This is supposed to bring a dark theme that run in the background of the apps. This mode could reduce brightness which in turn should preserve the life of the battery.

User profiles are another feature that did not come with iOS 11. With them you would be able to create different profiles and then switch between them just like you can with Windows ones. This feature would be even more useful for Apple TVs since they are shared devices.
