The fall of 2017 is the fall of exciting new mobile operating system launches. Today we will discuss iOS 11, Apple’s upcoming new version of its in-house mobile OS. There are many new features that have been discussed with iOS 11 so far, but those that explain how it will improve the iPhone camera certainly got way less attention than they deserved. So today we are here to fix that. Let’s see all the new camera features from iOS 11.
Better live photos
Apple introduced live photos in 2015, so it’s nothing new. But until now, there wasn’t much that could be done with them except for being in awe at how cool they look. With iOS 11, users will be able to select a still from any frame and even be edited as an actual video.
No smartphone user ever preferred the filters their phone comes with in favor of those on Instagram or specialized third party editing apps. However, Apple has always managed to do quite well in the phone filter category, and now they will be adding some more.
This is not necessarily photography related, but it does have to do with your phone’s camera in some way. With iOS 11 onwards, users will be able to record videos of their device’s screen. There are many reasons why one would want that, but the universal truth is that this is one awesome feature to have.
Inbuilt QR code scanner
Although QR codes have been around for years, you always needed third party apps to scan them. But not anymore, at least not on iPhones or iPads. With iOS 11, Apple devices will have an inbuilt QR code scanner directly into the device’s camera, which makes the entire process so much easier.
