How To Install Google Chrome Extensions In Opera Browser

The developers of the famous Opera browser constantly work on the improvements of the program. Opera extensions can increase the functionality of the browser, make the usage simpler and more comfortable, and also provide the aesthetic pleasure (for example, original themes for the browser). You can install Opera extensions from the official store, but if it isn’t enough for you, you can install a numerous Google Chrome extensions. We are going to show you how to install Google Chrome extensions in Opera browser.

How To Install Google Chrome Extensions In Opera Browser

The Opera extensions are only for Opera and are not supported by any other browser.

But, the extension “Download Chrome Extension” adapts a Google Chrome extension so that it can be used in Opera browser.

To install this extension, open Opera browser, click on Menu on the top-left corner of the screen and then find “Get extensions” option. Open the store extensions, and in the search field, enter the name of the extension – “Download Chrome Extension”.

Open the extension and press the button “Add to Opera”.

After the installation is complete, Opera browser will be ready to install the extensions originally designed for Google Chrome.

Note! Despite the fact that Opera is based on the Chromium engine, the browser has some limitations, but still the majority of the extensions from Google Chrome can be installed easily in Opera and it will work normally.

To install an extension, go to Google Chrome web store with Opera browser, pick the extension you want, and click on “Add to Opera” button on the top right of the opened window.

Opera browser will add an extension to the list of installed ones, but it can’t be activated without the user confirmation in Opera extensions store where it must be activated manually.

Click on Menu < Extensions < Extensions manager and then find the extension that you added from Chrome and press the button “Install” and after the installation is complete, extensions will be ready to use.
