Noted Twitter handle Evan Blass has shared a picture of what is expected to be the foldable Moto Razr smartphone from the Motorola brand. The phone, on first looks, appears exactly like the Moto Razr of the feature phone days, including the bottom chin. The device is up for launch on November 13. While the form factor has been retained, the inside of this foldable clamshell model will have a seamless display that is likely to be 6.2-inches in size.
A Moderate Processor Rumored
The images shared by Blass give very limited information out. You can notice the physical button on the lower chin. You can assume that it may be housing the fingerprint scanner. There will be two display screens, one when fully unfolded and the other secondary screen in the folded position. This display may have limited use or functions associated with it. The display is rumored to be of the OLED type. From the images, it also seems as if the screen may be a rectangular one with a different aspect ratio which is not known yet.
With regard to the specifications, there are only rumors as of now. They suggest that the processor will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 710SoC. The RAM is predicted to be offered in two variants, 4 GB and 6 GB with the corresponding onboard storage levels 64 GB and 128 GB respectively. The battery is rumored to be 2,730mAh. All these point to a mid-segment smartphone, unlike the other brands which have gone in for the best in trade specs for their foldable devices. Many are 5G-ready as well. This Moto Razr, on the other hand, does not appear to be in the same league. There are no hints available yet on the camera function on this new phone.
Indicated Price $1,500
These reports on the new foldable Moto Razr smartphone suggest the device to be unveiled on November 13 will be priced at $1,500. Though this price might sound cheaper than the devices already in the market, like the Samsung Galaxy Fold (around $2000) or the Huawei Mate X ($2400), the specifications of the Moto Razr appear lower in comparison. If it turns out the actual specifications are different when the phone is launched in a fortnight, the situation could be different.
