Rumors had so far been revolving around Huawei’s next smartphone under its sub-brand, Honor. The Honor V30 is likely to be launched soon and fresh rumors have talked about an Honor V30 Pro model as well. However, what has caught the attention of the market is a new post on the popular Chinese website Weibo indicating that the company will launch a new tablet, the Honor Tab 6 also along with the smartphones.
Kirin 810 SoC Processor to Power the Tablet
Changan Digital Jun is the name under which this post has appeared on Weibo. It is quite brief and doesn’t reveal much other than saying that the processor to be fitted by Huawei in this new tablet will be its in-house HiSilicon Kirin 810SoC. It may be recalled here that the company’s previous tablet was the Honor Tab 5, which launched earlier this year. The Honor Tab 5 sports a Kirin 710 SoC processor. This tablet has a display of 8-inches. The screen resolution is 1920×1200 pixels. The RAM comes in two variants, 3GB and 4GB. There are two options for internal storage, 32GB and 64GB depending on the choice of RAM. The tablet allows 4G connectivity and storage can be enhanced through a microSD card. The Honor Tab 5 sports a couple of cameras, one each on the rear and in the front. It has a powerful 5,100mAh battery under the hood. The tablet is operated by the Android Pie OS.
Not a Reliable Post by Jun
While you can give some credence to a few of these rumors, one sentence added by Jun in his Weibo post will make you think twice. He says he has just mentioned whatever he overheard a few friends discussing it about the tablet. Now, this is a little difficult to be accepted and can only be taken with a grain of salt. Rumors of this nature are usually gleaned from some component suppliers or from a case maker for the devices.
The Chinese major’s smartphones, the Honor V30 and possibly V30 Pro, are likely to be unveiled in an event soon. The date of this event is yet to be announced.
