Huawei has released its P9 smartphone in April 2016 while the P10 has hit the stores in March 2017. Today we will compare these two devices and let you decide if you want to purchase the brand new Huawei P10 or just get the cheaper version, the P9, that was released last year.
The Huawei P9 measures 145×70.9x7mm and weights 144 grams. The Huawei P10 measures 145.3×69.3x7mm and weights 145 grams. In terms of design, they’re very much alike, as they feature the same metal body with an antenna strip at the top of the back, only that the P10 looks more like the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche, meaning that the lower line from the back is closer to the edge.
The Huawei P9 has an IPS NEO LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 423 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. On the other hand, the Huawei P10 has a smaller IPS NEO LCD display of 5.1-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 432 ppi that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM
The Huawei P9 features a HiSilicon Kirin 955 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A72 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card and 3GB or 3GB of RAM. The Huawei P10 comes with a HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and a quad-core Cortex A73 processor clocked at 2.4GHz, a Mali-G71 MP8 graphics card and 4GB of RAM.
Both devices have been released in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, which you can expand up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The Huawei P9 sports a dual-primary camera of 12MP that features dual-LED flash, phase detection, laser autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP.
