The Chinese major Huawei’s next flagship, the Huawei P40 Pro is slated for launch in the first quarter of 2020 and there have been leaks on the specifications and features of the device online. The latest are leaks of photos of the Huawei P40 Pro posted on the Chinese website Weibo. These photos reveal some details though not all since it is inside a case in the hands of the user. The other details are through earlier rumors and leaks. The Huawei P40 is also likely to be released along with the Pro variant.
Pill-Shaped Punch Hole Housing Two Selfie Shooters
The front display screen of the Huawei P40 Pro has a punch hole that’s shaped like a pill lying horizontally to accommodate two sensors for clicking selfies. The rear panel enclosed inside a case shows two rectangular bumps holding the quad-camera setup. Based on rumors, the cameras in the rear would be from Leica and the individual resolution of the cameras is not mentioned. The Huawei P40 will come with a triple camera arrangement. The broad expectations are the primary sensor will sport a high resolution like a 64MP or a 48MP shooter. The other three are likely to include an ultra-wide-angle lens, a ToF sensor, and a high-resolution main camera.
Processor, RAM, and Storage
Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 990 SoC is expected to be the processor on the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. The RAM support is likely to be 12GB and the internal storage 512GB. The predictions for these devices include AMOLED displays and under-display fingerprint sensors. The report says both models will be 5G phones.
Huawei has this ongoing issue with including US-made components and software. You will, therefore, find these devices incorporate the EMUI 10 that is developed based on open-source software.
More details will possibly emerge as the actual date of launch draws closer.
