There has been an official confirmation that the next flagship smartphones from the Chinese giant, the Huawei P40 and its larger version, the Huawei P40 Pro will be released in March 2020. The launch event will be held in Paris, France and it will be close to the end of March, though no date has been specified. There have been some leaks about these new phones. The well-known tipster OnLeaks has now joined hands with 91Mobiles to share some images of the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro. Here are some takeaways from these pictures.
A Black Photo of the Mobile on a Black Background
That’s right! The images released share very little information since these are photos in a dark background. However, some features can be clearly observed and reported. To start with, the display sizes for the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro are likely to be 6.2-inches and 6.5-inches approximately. It could vary a little more a little less. The Huawei P40 sports a flat display while the larger phone has a curved one. It is difficult to spot the notch or hole on the display. These are expected to be OLED displays with the under-display fingerprint sensor provided.
The Huawei P40 Pro is predicted to have a 120Hz screen refresh rate and a screen-to-body ratio of 98%.
Cameras Could be the Highlight
The images surely show the rectangular bump in the rear to house the cameras and flash. In all likelihood, the Huawei P40 will be fitted with four shooters in the rear while the Huawei P40 Pro may have five. The speculation is that the Huawei P40 will have a 48MP sensor as the primary sensor with a wide-angle camera and a depth sensor for support. The fourth lens could be a macro camera.
The Huawei P40 Pro, on the other hand, could be fitted with a 64MP Sony IMX686 lens as the primary shooter. The other four are expected to be a 12MP periscope telephoto camera, a 20MP ultrawide angle camera, a macro camera, and a ToF sensor. These are not officially confirmed specifications but more by way of expectations. The prediction is that the battery on the Pro version of this smartphone will be 5,500mAh with 50W fast charging support (Super Charge wired charging from Huawei).
The bottom edge can be seen very vividly and the USB-C type port in the middle flanked by the speaker grille on one side and the SIM tray on the other. The 3.5mm jack is missing on both devices.
On the processor front, the educated guess is that the Huawei P40 will be fitted with the Kirin 990 and coupled with the Balong 5000 modem for 5G capability. Huawei has developed a superior processor with the 5G modem integrated, the Kirin 990 5G. This might be the processor powering the Huawei P40 pro.
The Android 10 OS with the EMUI 10 skin would be the operating system.
