Before the release of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, we already have a phone star to use, namely the 2017 flagship Huawei P10 Plus. People were kind of disappointed with the features found on the P10, but now P10 Plus will come to fix everything and to rival the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8.
While the P10 Plus is surely a good phone, it doesn’t really have a stunning design. Indeed, the Greenery and Dazzling Blue options are really beautiful, but besides this, we just see pretty much the same design until now. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8 Plus is indeed stunning. It is curved, just like the Edge models, but it doesn’t have as much bezel on the top and the bottom.
Thankfully, both devices show a Quad HD screen, offering crisp resolution. Galaxy S8 Plus quits the 16:9 dimensions and goes for an 18:5:9 aspect ratio. This means that it’s tall and wide. At the same time, Huawei opted for a simple widescreen of 5.5 inches LCD. However, the LCD screens don’t top the quality offered by the OLED panels.
P10 Plus’ advantage is the fact that it brings 2 cameras on the back. It has a 12 MP main camera, plus a 20 MP sensor which is monochrome. This helps with the zooming feature and the overall quality of the photos. At the same time, the S8 Plus presents a hardware similar to their previous releases, presenting a 12 MP camera with a f/1.7 aperture. Even though it’s a good camera, it does not equal the performance you get with the Huawei P10 Plus.
Both devices rely on a serious battery to support their performance and the screen. As such, the Galaxy S8 Plus presents a 3,500 mAh, while the Huawei P10 Plus offers a 3,750 mAh one.
