Huawei Mate 30 Pro Likely to Have Seven Cameras

A new leak on Huawei Mate 30 Pro ahead of its launch on 19th September in Munich has revealed that the upcoming Huawei smartphone will have seven cameras. There is a lot of speculation on what it is going to be like since the handset is not going to be powered by Google’s Android OS after the fallout between Google and Huawei earlier this year. This could be very worrying for Huawei, as a non-Android smartphone may not sell so well outside of its home province in China.

The latest leak about the smartphone by @Onleaks has revealed a 360º CAD-based overview of the phone. @Onleaks has also leaked some high-resolution design renders of the smartphone, although the details may not be 100% accurate due to a “tricky CAD.” The smartphone is pretty unique in terms of design. The rear side has a quadruple lens camera setup with the cameras arranged in a circular shape. This is not so different from the recently leaked renders of the upcoming OnePlus 7T. On the front side, there is a triple-lens front camera setup sitting atop a slim bezel, unlike the notch-less end-to-end display that is commonly seen on phones these days. The smartphone has almost the size of a phablet, with dimensions measuring at 158.1 x 73.6 x 8.7mm.

Huawei has also ditched the volume buttons for its smartphone and opted for a single power button on the sides. This points to an earlier rumor that claimed the smartphone would come with a touch-sensitive area, which could be used to adjust the volume. The phone is being reported to have a massive 6.6-inch display. The lower side of the handset will be packed with a speaker, a USB-C port, a microphone, as well as the SIM card tray. The upper side will have an IR Blaster along with a noise-canceling microphone. The smartphone has also ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro specifications

So far, there hasn’t been any significant reveal on the specs of the Mate 30 Pro, although it is very likely to run on the Kirin 990 chipset that will be launched next week in Berlin at IFA. The smartphone will also support 5G network given that the inbuilt 5G modem comes with the chip.

The primary lens on the rear camera will have 40MP resolution with a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/1.6 and RYYB pixel layout. There will be another 40MP lens, which is supposedly a 120-degree ultra-wide lens, along with another 8MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom. The fourth lens seems to be a macro lens for up-close shots. Other than this, there is no info on the front camera setup.
