If you want to be entertained in the gaming industry, all you will hear about is virtual reality. But what are the other uses of virtual reality except for gaming? What do they offer except for entertainment?

We have chosen two amazing devices to see their pros and cons and which device is better: HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

What Should We Buy?

When you want a VR device which can offer the same options, you can look for the cheapest one. Before getting a lower price, both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift cost $800, but now the Oculus Rift is $400 and the HTC Vive is $600.

HTC Vive and Oculus Rift: Design and Features

The devices are easy to use but the one which shines best regarding ergonomics and smooth feels is the Oculus Rift. It looks odd, having a spherical shape, but it has a good feel to it, featuring buttons which help you surf the web. HTC Vive on the other hand features less natural controls and it doesn’t compare to the Oculus Rift.

HTC Vive and Oculus Rift: Tracking Area

Why is tracking area important? Tracking area for the VR headsets are very important when you play games. They pick up sensors and when the area is bigger, it means you can move more.

The Oculus Rift has a tracking area of 8.2 x 8.2 feet (2.5 x 2.5 m), using three sensors and the HTC Vive has a wider area of 11.5 x 11.5 feet (3.5 x 3.5 m).

Which Device is Better?

Both of the VR headsets are great, but the HTC Vive is better since it has the ability to give a better VR experience than the Oculus Rift. HTC Vive also comes with two controllers, where the Oculus Rift offers them at a separate price. HTC Vive is also backed up by the Steam platform, which will provide more opportunities for gaming.

The ultimate decision is yours, whether it comes down to your budget or your preferences.
