HTC U11 Android Oreo Update Take Place in November

The newest Android operating system, Android 8.0 Oreo will be used for the U11 smartphone. This was confirmed back in August by HTC and even though the announcement said that the update will take place in the fourth quarter of the year, no other official statements have been made since.

According to LlabTooFeR Twitter tipster, the update is in its final stages and it will be released in November or at the beginning of December.

HTC has also confirmed that Android 8.0 Oreo will also be used for HTC U Ultra and HTC 10.

HTC U11

The Android smartphone was released in June 2017 and it is part of the HTC U series. The device features a glass unibody design with an aluminum frame. The pressure sensitive points were used for the HTC Edge Sense, a feature enabling users to control various functions just by pressing the edges of the frame.

The display is a Super LCD 5 Quad HD with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and the front glass is Corning Gorilla 5; the rear one is Gorilla Glass 3.

The device uses a 3000mAh battery featuring Quick charge. The frontal camera is a 16 MP with a f/2.0 aperture including EIS, while the rear one is 12 megapixels with an f1.7 aperture. It has 4/6 GB of RAM and 64.128 GB of memory storage and more can be added using the microSD slot (up to 256 GB). Under the hood is uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Octa-core COU and Adreno 540 GPU.

The HTC U11 came initially with Android 7.1 Nougat, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Baidu for China pre-installed. HTC Sense Companion was also installed to make personalized suggestions learning daily routines of the owner.
