How to use Optifine for Minecraft

Minecraft is one of the most popular video games where players have limitless possibilities – they can build, battle mobs, mine, explore, and more. Certain parts of the game can be changed using mods, and the game code is mainly open source so third-party developers can create mods that players can install and use. Here, we are going to show you how to use Optifine for Minecraft.

What is Optifine?

Parts of the gameplay can be changed with mods, and one of the most popular mods for Minecraft is Optifine. This mod brings a lot of new things to the game, and some of the most popular ones are fog control, shader support, and FPS boosts. If you are eager to add some fresh air to your favorite game and bring the change to have a lot more fun, then you should install this mode and try it out.

How to install Optifine

Before you download and install Optifine, make sure that you have the latest version of Java. To download the latest version, click on this link. Once you are done, head over to the Optifine website and get the mode. You can do this by clicking on this link.

Download the latest version. If it does not seem to be working for you for some reason, you can always go back to the Optifine website and get one of the previous versions.

Once you download the file, run it. It should detect the Minecraft folder automatically, but if it doesn’t, you can do it manually by clicking on three dots next to the Folder window. Once you are sure the right folder is picked, click Install.

How to use Optifine for Minecraft

Now that you have installed Optifine, it is time to launch Minecraft. You will see a Minecraft window in the bottom-left. Now select Optifine. Next, create a new profile. Select it and start your game. When the game loads, you will instantly notice some changes.

If you want to explore video settings and some new options, what you need to do is head to Settings > Video Settings.
