Although not a usual move from Microsoft, but at this time you can download Office 2016 for free if you have a system with Mac OS X.
In recent years it became obvious that the people at Microsoft were not interested in launching new versions of Microsoft Office for Mac shortly after they have made it available on Windows. This way they were trying to attract new users to their platform, but now things have changed again. The Redmond giant has decided to launch Office 2016 in a Preview version for the Mac users.
Officially, there are a few months until Office 2016 for Mac will be released in final version, about the same time we will be able to purchase Windows 10 in stores. Until then, to fix small problems or to introduce new features based on feedback provided by real users and applying the same philosophy similar to that behind Windows 10 Consumer Preview, Microsoft released Office 2016 free preview version.
Office for Mac needed a radical update almost for five years now. But today we see native support for screens with high Retina Display resolution, with HiDPI. Also in Office 2016 we can run each of the applications included, in full screen mode. The interface is also reinvented to be similar to Office 2013 for Windows. If you’ve made a habit to work with friends on projects in Word, for the first time on Mac, you can attach all comments to that file. Keyboard shortcuts, graphs and charts in Excel also benefit from an important update.
The same suite of the free Office 2016 you can experience a new PowerPoint, a new version of Outlook, OneNote and several other applications. To install it on your own system without any additional cost or additions bushy forms, visit Microsoft Office blog.
