The solutions below are simple and do not require too much time.

  • Restart the phone – The best way to start the whole process of fixing is by restarting your device. A phone can often block certain functions because you haven’t restarted it for a while. Many processes and apps run in the background causing various issues. As soon as you restart it, the apps and processes will close, and the problems will disappear.
  • Clear the cache of the Messaging app – Head over to Settings, go to Apps, find Messaging app, and tap on it. Next, tap Storage and tap Clear cache.
  • Spam folder – The Messaging app contains a spam folder, and some messages could be there. Open the app, click on the menu, and open Spam to check it out.
  • Update the app – The updates for Messaging app may not be as frequent as for other apps, but make sure to get them when they become available. Head over to Play Store and check for updates.
  • Update the software – Keeping the software up to date is essential as new versions come with fixes for various issues, and they also may bring some interesting new features. Go to Settings > Software Update and tap Download and install. You’ll see Download and install if the latest software version is available.
  • Reinsert the SIM Card – open the tray, remove your card and place it back.
  • Reset network settings – this can help in fixing the problem. It won’t delete your data. However, you will have to adjust the network settings all over again, including adding Wi-Fi passwords, pairing your phone with other Bluetooth devices, etc. Go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings.
  • Reset all settings – All settings on your device will go back to factory defaults. Your data won’t be deleted. Head over to  Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset settings. Tap Reset settings to confirm.
  • Factory data reset – If you tried all of the above, but nothing works, give your phone a fresh beginning. You can do that by performing a factory data reset. It will delete your data and restore your settings to factory defaults. So, before moving to the data reset steps, create a backup. When the backup is ready, go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Factory data reset, and tap Reset. Let the process complete. Follow the steps to set up your S21 5G as a new phone.
