So, what you need to do here is open the Play Store app on your Android device, open the Settings menu by tapping on three horizontal lines, and then click on My apps & Games. Tap on Installed tab, and see if Instagram needs to be updated. You can update Instagram only, but you can also choose the option Update all.
Solution No.2: Clear the cache
Another simple thing you can do to solve this problem is to clear Instagram cache. Go to Settings from the Home screen, tap on Apps, and in the Downloaded section find Instagram and tap on it. Click on Clear cache.
Solution No.3: Clear data

Keep in mind that once you clear data, app’s local files and settings will be deleted and you will have to add your username and password to log in to Instagram.
Solution No.4: Restart your device
When one of the apps on your device misbehaves, in this case Instagram, you may restart your device. This will close all the apps and processes. Turn off your phone or tablet and turn it back on a few seconds later. Check if the app is working normally.

Reinstalling the app can fix the problem. First, you will have to delete the app from your Android device. Go to Settings > Apps (or App Manager) > find Instagram, tap on it and choose the “Uninstall” option. Once you do that, open Play Store, look up for Instagram app and download and install it again.
