How to fix Bluetooth connection issues on HTC One M9

Note: Make sure that the Power Mode is disabled because when this mode is activated, certain services and features are turned off. To see if the Power Mode is disabled, go to Settings > Power.


Solution No.1: Toggle Bluetooth

Let’s start with the simplest method. What you need to do here is to turn off the Bluetooth and turn it back on. You may think that solution that is this easy to do cannot fix a thing, but often, this is all you need to do.


Solution No.2: Unpair devices

This can solve the problem. Go to Settings and tap on Bluetooth. Next, tap on the gear icon which is located next to the targeted device and then tap Unpair. Create the connection again. If this does not solve the problem, move to the solutions below.


Solution No.3: Bluetooth profiles limit

The problem with Bluetooth connection may appear when the user reaches the limit with the Bluetooth profiles. You should delete the profiles you don’t use anymore and when you do that try to make the connection. This worked for many!


Solution No.4: Clear Bluetooth cache

Bluetooth issues bother many users, and what worked for many is clearing the Bluetooth cache, so make sure to try this out. Go to Bluetooth settings, clear the cache and when you do this, try to make a connection again.


Solution No.5: Wipe cache partition on your HTC One M9

Over time, a lot of junk and temporary files piles up on your device causing many problems, so to clear that you can wipe cache partition on your HTC One M9. Many people are wondering will this delete their files and settings, and the answer is no. This deletes only the temporary files and junk, and all your apps, personal settings and files will not be erased. Follow the steps below:

  • Turn off your HTC One M9
  • Press and hold Volume Down
  • Press and hold the Power button and let it go when the phone vibrates
  • Keep holding the Volume Down key
  • Release the Volume Down when red and blue lines appear
  • Press Volume Down button two times in order to highlight “reboot to bootloader” option and select it  with the Power button
  • The white screen will show up
  • Press the Volume Down button three times to highlight “BOOT TO RECOVERY MODE” and select it using the Power button
  • Press Volume button three times and highlight “Wipe the Cache Partition” and select the option with the Power button

When the task is finished, press the Power button and select the option “Reboot system now”.


Solution No.6: Factory data reset

While the previous solution deletes the junk and temporary files, factory data reset deletes your settings, third-party apps you deleted and it also deletes your files so it is important to backup your data first. Next, go to Settings > Backup & Factory Reset > Reset Phone and if you want the SD card to be erased, select that option, and then click OK.
