Honor 8A and Honor 8A Pro variants Get Wi-Fi Alliance Certification

Huawei appears to be ready with its next sub-brand Honor budget phones, the Honor 8A and 8A Pro, as seen by the devices’ appearance on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification site today. The monikers listed on the site read JAT-LX1, JAT-LX3, JAT-AL00, JAT-L29 and JAT-L41 respectively, but based on the other information already available, these belong to the upcoming Honor 8A and 8A Pro devices.

Some Key Specifications Identified

These models are the variants of the same 6.088 inch HD+ IPS display phone found in TENAA earlier this month, with the screen resolution reading 1560×720 pixels. The phone’s overall dimensions are 156.28 mm × 73.5 mm × 8.0 mm and its weight 150 gms. An octa-core processor clocking speed of 2.4 GHz is mentioned and receives support from 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage variants could be 32 GB and 64 GB and the provision for a micro-SD slot to enhance storage by an additional 512 GB can also be spotted. The Android Pie version 9.0 will be the operating system on the Huawei Honor 8A and 8A Pro smartphones.

Honor 8A variants

The phones are likely to be fitted with a 2920 mAh battery. So far, the indication is that there will only be 2 cameras on board, a 13MP primary sensor in the rear and an 8 MP selfie camera in the front. At least four colors, blue, black, red and gold are indicated. And from renders, available one can confirm that the 3.5 mm jack will also be present.

The Devices Earlier Appeared in Other Sites

The Huawei Honor 8A was spotted earlier in the Russian certification body EEC and the Chinese TENAA website too. The exact nomenclature might vary as it always does but the specs can be matched and the conclusions drawn from them. Now, most of these sightings will indicate the existence of the Honor 8A, but today’s Wi-Fi Alliance listing of what appears to be the Honor 8A Pro variant sets you thinking what variation could be found in the Pro model. Either the RAM and ROM could be higher at 4 GB and 64 GB respectively and the camera section may witness a dual camera setup in the rear.

But that confirmation may come in quite soon. For the present, it is clear Huawei will make an announcement about its Honor 8A and 8A Pro models very soon.
