Grand Theft Auto Online’s casino is the new excitement in town. It was quite on the expected lines since Rockstar Games, the game’s developers, released this DLC keeping the interest of the gamers in mind. The first set of reactions, however, seems to suggest those playing in the online casino are getting virtually addicted to it.
Plenty of Ways to Splurge Your GTA$
The Diamond Casino & Resort is located within the virtual city of Los Santos, the Vinewood downtown area. The virtual casino offers the entire spectrum of games that a real-world one would do. You can play the Three Card Poker or Blackjack or Roulette and you can only bet with the chips that you can buy with the online cash, not your real money. Going by the frenzy with which the players on the Casino are burning up their GTA$, you would believe Rockstar deliberately did this. Making people spend huge amounts of their real dollars would have resulted in a lot of bad names.
Players Don’t Seem to Mind It
Judging by what those who have played in the GTA’s Online Casino so far, it appears they are not disappointed at losing all that virtual money. There are comments that many of them are getting addicted to the games and won’t stop till they have lost all that they started with.
The usual take on any new DLC that the game developers release is that the gamers are forced to spend dollars to buy and play them. In the case of the Diamond Casino & Resort, however, you really don’t have to shell out much to start playing at the Online Casino. An hour of playing costs 500 chips that can be procured with very little cash.
Some are even comparing the type of expenses one had to be prepared with before playing the main Grand Theft Auto game. The buildings and cars you end up buying don’t come cheap. The interest and excitement in playing the game can be gauged by the fact that the Online Casino site almost crashed due to a large number of players logging in.
There have been tweets galore, mostly of a positive nature that they are having a good time despite losing it all. The only aspect to be cleared in the coming days would be if people are spending their real dollars lured by the temptation to gamble.
