We live in a day and age when game studios are so eager to release their products and collect the money that they launch them as soon as they can. That’s why many of them come in a clunky form and are filled with bugs, resulting in a lot of poor reviews and in the end, their sales drop significantly. Rockstar Games isn’t such a company.
This gaming company had always preferred to wait before launching a game. They value quality and when you look at their past games, you can clearly see that. That is exactly why GTA 6 didn’t happen sooner and it may be a while before it launches too, because the people at Rockstar Games are perfectionists.
Red Dead Redemption 2
The upcoming game, Red Dead Redemption 2, has already revealed itself to us, in terms of graphics, gameplay and overall feel. Take a look at this game and you will understand that the company really wants their games to be as close to perfect as possible.
According to Business Insider, the company has a record of delivering a high-quality game once every two or three years. That’s why we may be advised to expect GTA 6 to arrive sometime in 2020 or 2021.
Sales and profit
Then, we can’t forget about the money aspect, as it is one of the most important ones for a company, if not the most. Rockstar knows that gamers can only have so much time allotted for a game and if they release GTA 6 soon after Red Dead Redemption 2, it may hurt them both in terms of sales.
Plus, GTA 5 is still extremely popular and continues to bring on profit, even though it was released about 5 years ago. Taking into account that this isn’t that common in the gaming industry, why would Rockstar push for a sooner launch of GTA 6 when the previous version is still selling good.
