Google is adding new features to its smartphones. A couple of days ago the company released the Pixel Ambient Services app, previous to the October 4th hardware event. Yesterday the battery app for Nexus and Pixel phones has also been added to Play Store under the name Device Health Services.

The new battery app for Google’s phones was released on the 11th of October 2017, early in the morning. Owners of Google smartphones started receiving the update, including those using Nexus 5 devices. On the description notes of the app it specifies that Device Health Services is able to predict for how long the device’s battery will last considering user’s usage patterns. The feature can be found by those interested under the name Personalized battery usage.
For those who use Android 8.0 Oreo
Those fortunate enough to already use Oreo operating system, the new version once updated will be 1.0.2, bringing bug fixes, extra models and some infrastructure improvements.
The interface of the battery app found on devices running on Android Oreo is different from devices running previous versions of Android’s OS.
Another app in charge of supporting enhanced features in the Android Messages app is Carrier Services. The latest update from March brings US users on major and smaller carriers new improved features. This is also available to Project Fi subscribers. For those who are less familiar with Carrier Services, it is enough to know that it is an app which helps carriers provide mobile services. This happens thanks to the latest networking capabilities available and it includes support for enhances features found in the Android Message app. Carrier Services is an app also available in Google Play Store.
