The self-driving cars are no longer a novelty for any of us, however, they still need to be improved before being used on the streets. Google’s cars have got to the point where the cars can operate without a driver and they can also communicate with pedestrians on the sidewalks.
Driverless vehicles are running on some algorithms that allow them to make decisions when you’re on the street, to avoid accidents and to ensure a perfect driving experience. They also use sensor systems or video cameras.
The Mountain View company wants to include a function in their upcoming cars, that allows the communication between the vehicle and the people around it, so it can warn them in the case of an imminent danger, thus increasing the reaction time and avoiding any possible accidents. Many people aren’t careful when crossing the street, and therefore, there are many accidents involving pedestrians.
Another notable aspect of these cars is that they have the ability to gather information about dangers on the streets and send warnings directly to the mobile phones of nearby people. Additionally, these cars could also make use of their lights or SMS alerts.
Such a system would perhaps reduce the daily number of injured persons and would force pedestrians to be more careful when they want to cross a street.
