Google has announced the availability of the June 2023 monthly update for the Pixel Watch via a post on its Pixel Watch Community. The rollout of this update has begun today and will continue in phases over the next few days.

All Pixel Watches running Wear OS 3.5 are eligible for this update, which primarily includes undisclosed security patches, bug fixes, and improvements specifically for Pixel Watch users. By installing this update, your watch will be upgraded to version RWDC.230605.004, replacing May's version RWDA.230114.013.

While no new features or user-facing improvements are explicitly mentioned in this update, keen observers, such as 9to5Google, have noticed a change in the background color of the System updates screen, transitioning from black to gray. Additionally, the pin pad's numbers appear to be larger. However, these seem to be the only noticeable changes so far.

Google recently rolled out an update to the Home app on Wear OS, introducing the ability to adjust the color and temperature of smart lights in your home and providing quicker access to favorite devices and automations. Additionally, this month, a new feature for the Home app on Wear OS is expected to be released, offering live previews from Nest cameras within the home. This feature will be particularly useful when you don't have your phone with you but can still receive watch notifications.

Once the over-the-air (OTA) update becomes available for your watch, you should receive a notification. However, if you prefer to expedite the update process and install it immediately, you can do so by navigating to your watch's Settings, then selecting System and System Updates from the menu. If the download doesn't start right away, you can try disabling Bluetooth by going back to Settings, selecting Connectivity, and turning off Bluetooth. This will prompt the watch to use WiFi instead, resulting in a faster update process. Afterward, you can revisit the System Updates section to check for available updates.
