Google Pixel 5 XL – Renders Already Out Show Triple Rear Camera Setup

While you have to struggle to get some information out of most smartphone brands, Google does not seem to be overly concerned about confidentiality on its upcoming devices. The Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 5XL are phones you should wait till October 2020 to be released officially. However, it appears the company is ready with the prototypes of the device as seen through leaked renders of the device. What has been publicly shared is a render of the back panel of the phone, supposedly the Google Pixel 5XL.

A New Design of the Camera Bump

The use of a bump to house the rear cameras in smartphone designing has elicited mixed reactions from analysts and users. Some seem to be fine with it while others not so. It has been seen so far that the bump, whether it is in the shape of a circle, square or a rectangle, is located on one side of the rear panel. Departing from that norm, this render of the Google Pixel 5XL has a semi-circular bump as if hanging from the top center of the rear panel. The rumor is that this is one of three prototypes Google has made and is yet to take a call on which will be the final one. If the company sticks to its regular pattern, there are still eight months to go for the official release of the 2020 Google Pixel phones.

Three Camera Setup with a Wide-Angle Sensor

The highlights of what can be gathered from this render are that it is a triple camera setup and a wide-angle lens is included in the configuration. These two should come as pleasant surprises since at least the wide-angle lens was missed in the Google Pixel 4 and 4XL. The camera section in the Google Pixel phones has been receiving very good reviews over the years. Hopefully, this year’s models will be an improvement over the previous years.

The person who has leaked the render, Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech, says he has the render of the front of the Google Pixel 5XL as well; however, he says there is no major difference from the Google Pixel 4XL.

Many would want to know if the Project Soli radar chip will be included in this year’s model or not. It may be recalled that Google could not sell its Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL models in many markets due to restrictions on the radar chip.

There may even be an update from Google directly on these leaks.
