Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL Phones Have Surprisingly Long Battery Life, Here’s Why

The entire internet is abuzz with the new $399 mid-range premium smartphone offered by Google. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL are definitely groundbreaking in some ways like never before.

These smartphones have brought back the long-dead 3.5 mm headphone jack that the entire smartphone industry considered to be useless. Google also introduced a flagship quality camera to a phone that is relatively cheap on launch date rather than letting people wait for a price drop to purchase the phone.

At the Google I/O, Google launched the new Pixel 3a and 3a XL phones which deliver great value for money. The displays sport 2K resolution and are OLED screens, which are not being offered even on the more expensive iPhone XR. They run on the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

As surprising as it is, the phones have received extremely positive feedback from reviewers not only for its camera but also for its battery life. The Pixel 3a sports a 3,000 mAh battery while the Pixel 3a XL sports a 3,700 mAh battery. Based on real-world usage which was possible as reviewers got the devices at least a week ago and were able to spend considerable time with it, these phones lasted more than one and half days on a single charge.

The main reason that we could deduce out of this is the fact that such optimized battery has never been paired with a mid-range processor from Qualcomm. There are many phones that use similar processor but they may not have access to OS and hardware as Google does which might have contributed to this improved battery life.

Even after snapping photos and videos for an entire day, a popular Youtuber suggests that it still had like 50% battery left towards the evening. If you are looking for the best battery life, you should possibly go for the larger screen size on the Pixel 3a XL which also has 700 mAh bigger battery to help you get through the day. The Pixel phones also offer vanilla Android experience, timely updates and now you get the best smartphone camera for less than $600 making it a cool choice for most buyers.
