Google Might Announce a Chromebook Pixel This Autumn

Google will impress you at their autumn event with a Pixel. But you won’t see a Pixel smartphone at their event. The Android Police have spread a rumor according to which Google is currently working on a second generation of Chromebook Pixel and that they might announce it this year at their fall event.

Google Chromebook Was Believed to Be Dead

Google was thought to have retired their laptops since they haven’t announced a new one last year, and since Rick Osterloh, the hardware senior vice president, announced that they had no plan for a new laptop model. After his announcement, he specified that he didn’t have any plans to share at that time, meaning that they might work again on making laptops in the future.

Chromebook Pixel: Specs and Features

Rumors on the Chromebook Pixel share some impressive details such as being a convertible laptop with a keyboard which can be detached, a 12.3 inch screen, of a thickness of 10 mm. It will offer two options for storage and RAM: 32 GB or 128 GB storage and 8 Gb or 16 GB RAM. The laptop might also include a Wacom stylus.

This new Chromebook Pixel will have Android apps, making it a more versatile and viable laptop, useful for users who rely on Android Apps. Along with LTE connection and a stylus, it will be a challenge to Apple Macbook and iPad Pro.

Launching a Chromebook Laptop Will Solidify the Pixel Line for Google

The right time is here and Google should take advantage and announce their new Chromebook Pixel. They should offer not only a great design, but also good performance if they want to have a premier laptop line.

At the same event, Android Police said that Google will also introduce a Google Home small version, a competitor to Echo Dot from Amazon.
