What is OTG?
OTG or On The GO can be defined as the way through which USB devices like a MP3 player, mobile phone become a host and allow other USB devices such as Pen-drives, Digital Camera, etc to attach with them. In this technique one can switch the role between a host and client amongst these USB devices.
Technobezz Explains OTG
OTG or USB OTG or On The GO, all are the names given to a procedure in which one USB device attach itself with another USB device. It’s like establishing a master- slave relation or client-host relations. The relation works on the established communication link, in which the one device which controls becomes the host or the master whereas the other one behaves like a salve.
In OTG, the host is responsible for all sorts of data transfers through the cable and the other devices are able to send signals when they are ready for the connection.
> Using OTG a mobile phone can read the information from another USB device by becoming the host device.
> USB device can become a storage device while connected to the host through OTG.
> Mostly the computers become the host and other USB devices, like printer behaves as the slave.
