What is OPS, RUU?

RUU is the abbreviation used for ROM Update Utility, which is used to install a ROM in your computer without flashing it from recovery mode. OPS, RUU will do overwrite the following partitions in your device when executed

> System and its mount point

> Boot as well as its mount point

> Recovery area

> User data which means you will be losing all the data you stored in it.

RUU or ROM Update Utility, is a windows based exe file, which has a full complete OS, stock recovery, boot loader and radio baseband in it. RUU can be accessed by keeping the phone in boot loader mode and it brings the phone back to its factory settings.

Operating a RUU file

> First of all download the RUU file.

> Backup all your necessary data and also create a backup of your phone in recovery area.

> Install all the necessary drivers of your device.

> Install fast boot and adb drivers too.

> Charge your phone fully as this procedure can be lengthy.

> Put your phone in boot loader mode and connect the phone with your PC.

> Match the firmwares of the device and the downloaded one.

> Make sure no application is working on the phone.

> Run the RUU file.
