What is NV_DATA.BIN?
NV_DATA.BIN is a binary file, which is present by default in every android phone, in the EFS folder. NV_DATA.BIN is one of the files, which stores the IMEI number of your android device. In case someone changes the IMEI number of an android device then the changed IMEI number will be shown in this file, whereas the original one will be stored in the EEPROM or in some other system file.
Mostly normal people do not change their IMEI number but criminals do that, as they want to advertise the device with different IMEI number. But, if you know where to find the original IMEI and how to restore it back, then you can get to know whether you have a genuine product or a stolen/blacklisted one.
Technobezz Explains NV_DATA.BIN
NV_DATA.BIN stores the IMEI number in it, which is a unique number, widely used to trace or block the android device, in case they are lost or stolen. If someone tries to change the IMEI number in NV_DATA.BIN file, then you can match it with the number stored in EEPROM or in nv_data.bin.bak file and can find out the original IMEI of the android device which you are using.
