Get to Know Google Chromecast and the Possibility of Virtual Reality Video Streaming

Aside from Google Chromecast 1 and 2, the company also started selling Chromecast Ultra and Chromecast Audio. For users who can afford to pay a little more and enjoy high-resolution content, the Chromecast Ultra boasts of more pixels as well as 4K Ultra HD support.

On the other hand, Chromecast Audio, as its name implies, is capable of transforming a powerful audio speaker into an audio streaming device. Unlike the Ultra that connects to an HDMI port, this model works when connected to a 3.5mm audio jack.

Chromecast in Virtual Reality

With the latest development added by Google, it is now possible to stream virtual reality videos. This was announced by Facebook-owned, Oculus, last month, a treat for VR gamers and enthusiasts.

Moreover, with the collaboration of two internet giants, Samsung-manufactured Gear VR mobile headsets can be connected to Google Chromecast media player for a more exciting game and visuals. The tech giant also announced the possibility of streaming VR media to Chromecast using Daydream View headsets. This will become available when the latest Android OS version of the device is released months from now.

This new streaming feature is not just for playing virtual reality games. But also, video game fans can also watch VR movies and more importantly, other people can have the same experience by watching the television.
