Fortnite E3 2018 Update – Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am and Cosmetic Refund Details

Fortnite is one of the best battle royale games available at the moment. The battle royale system works by putting a number of players (the server allows a maximum number of 100 per round) on a vast map. The players then have to fight and kill each other until only one remains.

Then that player is crowned the winner of the round. The game has already been released, and it is also free for everyone. It looks like the company has been working on coming up with a new event and new upgrades to the game. Today we will be having a more in-depth discussion about these features and events.

Fortnite will be present at E3

Developer Epic Games have announced today that there is going to be a big gaming event for Fortnite at E3. Usually, we would not expect a game that has already been released to come at E3, but Fortnite seems to exceed our expectations. So what are the exact events that will take place there?

First of all, Fortnite is going to have a booth on the show floor in the South Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The booth will be there on the 12th, 13th and 14th of June. There you will be able to play Fortnite to win some “exclusive prizes.” Now, that is what we know, but maybe Epic is hiding something from us which they will probably announce during the event.

They will also host a tournament for favorite streamers. The name of the tournament is “Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am.” Here streamers will be able to team up with celebrities to win the big prize and also bragging rights. The total sum of the prize money is 3 million dollars. But do not expect for the streamer who wins that money to spend it all for himself. The winner has the option to choose a charity of their choosing where this sum of money will be donated to.

There will be 50 players and 50 celebrities who will compete in this tournament. The pairings are quite impressive.  We know the names of some of the teams, and they are Markiplier and Joel McHale, Ninja and Marshmello and last but not least, Myth and Paul George.

If you want to get a ticket, you cannot buy them yourself. Epic is sending them out via an e-mail invitation and only people who live in or around Los Angeles.

There is also going to be an after party. It is named “Party Royale,” and it is also invite-only. If you want to get an invitation, then you must visit the booth on the show floor to get a chance to win a ticket.

New packs coming to Fortnite

A series of new data files suggest that a new series of backpacks could soon be coming to Fortnite. ‘Jetpack’ and ‘Eye of the Storm’ Tracker backpacks have just been added to the game. These new backpacks are very similar to Black Bling, but the difference can be seen since these packs have abilities that the player can use. They are not purely aesthetic. These two backpacks were added with the v4.2 update which was released on the 22nd of May. Apparently ‘Eye of the Storm’ was added by mistake, but we are not complaining.

It looks like new packs are on the way as well. This list of packs includes the Carmine Pack, Test pack, Glider, a Missile battery, Glider Pack, Medic Pack, and Intel Pack. Some of the names of these packs already tell us some of the abilities that they will add when the player has them.

We do not know when these packs will be added to the game. We also do not know if these packs will be part of the Limited Time Mode or if they will be permanent additions to the regular game.

Cosmetic Refund to make a comeback

Epic Games introduced a Self-Service Cosmetics Return system back in season 3 of Fortnite. This was done with Update 3.6, but after the update came out, there were some problems with it. In order to get rid of these problems, this feature was disabled so that the studio could work on improving it and making it more stable for players. This favorite was so popular, and players loved it. Now it looks like it will be making a comeback. The studio is ready to bring this feature back sometime at the beginning of next month, after the 1st of June.

After the feature is going to be live again, players will be able to return a max amount of three cosmetic items. If they return these items, they will get a refund of V-bucks that they can use however they want. These V-bucks do not have an expiration date. If this feature will work as intended, this means that fans will have a blast making use of it. Our only hope is that Fortnite will make this feature live before they already started to release other gliders, pickaxes, and skins for the game. We can only hope.
