How to fix “Unfortunately, Samsung Keyboard Has Stopped Working”
Restart your phone
The first thing you should try is to restart your device. Once it’s on, open one of the apps and try to use your keyboard. If the issue is still there, try the solutions below.
Clear app cache and data
In most cases, this will solve the problem. Here is what you need to do:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Application Manager
- Tap on All Tab
- Find Samsung keyboard among the apps
- Click on it and tap Clear cache
If clearing the cache does not fix the problem, again go to Settings > Application Manager > All Tab, tap on the Samsung keyboard and click on the option Clear data.
Disable Dictionary Provider
Some users fixed the problem by disabling Dictionary Provider. To do this, go to Settings > Application Manager > All Tab, find Dictionary Provider among the apps, tap on it and click on Disable.
Factory Data Reset
This will wipe off everything you have on your smartphone, including the personal settings, your files and third-party apps, so backup your files first. Do the following:
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Backup and reset
- Tap Factory data reset
- Click on Reset Device
- Tap on Erase everything
Clearing cache and data is the most effective and it almost always solves the problem, but if you tried all these suggestions, and nothing works perhaps it’s a good time to get another keyboard from the Play Store. Fortunately, there are many awesome keyboards to choose from!
