  • Let your phone discharge fully until it turns off itself
  • Turn on the phone and it will be turned off again
  • Now plug your Galaxy Note 4 into a charger but do not turn it on
  • Allow the phone to charge until the on-screen shows 100 percent charge
  • Remove the charger
  • Turn on the phone. The battery indicator should not show 100 percent. So plug in the charger again and let it charge until it shows 100 percent
  • Remove the charger and restart your phone. You will have to charge the phone again if it does not show 100 percent. Keep repeating this step until you see 100 percent charge when you start the phone without being plugged in
  • Now download and install the Battery calibration app if you have not installed it till now. Make sure the battery is 100 percent charged before launching the app, then restart
  • Launch the battery calibration app immediately and recalibrate the battery
  • After you have calibrated the battery, let your phone discharge and turns off itself
  • Once again, charge the battery fully while the phone is switched off. The battery percentage of the Android system will reset.

  1. I recently got a used note 4 from a friend and I noticed it would power down outta nowhere. And charge really slow when it would stay on. I tried everything above..no luck. But I started to charge it on airplane mode and seen a faster charge. Then I put in ultra power save mode along with airplane as to not pull any energy and it has been working great! It’s a pain but I don’t like to turn it off too often since it was shutting down on me when I first got it. Plus it’s my second phone. I don’t always keep a Sim in it. But I’ve been using it normally since charging it the way I mentioned. I’ve even been turning it on and off without having the loop or shutting down problem. Hopefully this can help someone.👍

  2. I had two note 4’s. The one wouldn’t rapid charge, the other would. I moved my apps over to the rapid charging one, and it stopped rapid charging. It is 100% related to the software. It’s not cables, its not chargers, the problem is following the software. Pointing fingers at the other guy is not the solution. Applications can kill the rapid charging feature.
