The apps you have installed will run smoothly most of the time, but issues such as lagging, crashing and unresponsiveness are pretty common. Here is how you can fix Samsung Galaxy S7 apps freezing and crashing issues.

Solution No.1: Restart your device

The best way to start solving this issue is by restarting your device, especially if you didn’t recently. A memory glitch and tons of apps that are not properly closed can be the cause of the problem. Once you restart your device, the applications and various processes that are running in the background will be closed and you will free up the memory. To restart your Galaxy S7, press and hold the Power button and when the menu appears tap Restart.


Solution No.2: Update the apps

You need to make sure the apps you have installed are up to date. To do that, open Google Play, and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner. Next, tap My apps & games. Tap Update All.


Solution No.3: Clear cache and data

If you are experiencing lag, unresponsive, or crashing issues when you are using a specific app, you can fix the problem by clearing app’s cache and data. Follow these steps:

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Tap Applications
  • Tap Application Manager
  • Tap “All” tab
  • Find the app you are having issues with and tap on it
  • Next, tap Clear Cache and Clear Data
  • Restart your device.


Solution No.4: Reinstall the app

Again, if the issue occurs only when you are using a specific app, delete it from your device and install it again.

To uninstall the app from your Galaxy S7:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap Applications
  • Next, tap Application manager
  • Find the app you wish to remove and tap on it
  • Tap Uninstall
  • Tap OK

When you are done, go to Google Play and download the app.


Solution No.5: Wipe cache partition

  • Turn off your device
  • Press the Power button, the Home button, and the Volume Up button at the same time
  • Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo
  • Once the Android logo appears, release the Home button and the Volume Up button
  • After a few seconds, you will access the Recovery menu
  • Use the Volume down button to highlight “Wipe cache partition” and select it with the Power button
  • When this is completed, highlight “Reboot system now” (sometimes it is already highlighted)
  • Press power button to select it
  • Your device will reboot.


Solution No.6: Update the software

You need to make sure the software on your Galaxy S7 is up to date. To do that, go to Settings > About and tap Software Update.
