The sim card slot is dirty or faulty

Samsung Galaxy S5 SIM card not detected issue may occur if there is any dirt stored on the sim card slot or if one or more sensors of the slot are faulty. First, remove the sim card and see if there is any dirt, and there is, blowing the air into the area and it will solve the issue. And if one or more sensors on the sim card slot are defective, contact a repair center.

 

Check if the phone is locked to a specific carrier

Sometimes the Samsung Galaxy S5 SIM card not detected issue occurs if the phone is locked to a specific carrier and the sim card that you have inserted in your Galaxy S5 is not supported by your unit. So, contact your carrier and ask if this is the case. Then you have to unlock the phone with the help of your carrier or using an unlocking product available on the Internet.

 

Check if any app is the culprit
