Way to fix HTC One not charging or turning on
- First press and hold the power, Volume up and Volume down buttons together for at least 15 seconds. The phone will vibrate and then will restart normally. If your HTC One does not respond, then follow the next step.
- Ensure the power outlet you are using to charge the HTC One is operating properly. To check this, plug in other devices in the same power outlet and see if it is charging.
- Once you confirm that the power outlet is working fine, the next thing is to check the charger. Try charging other devices using the same charger and see the result. Similarly, try using another new HTC One charger and notice if there is any improvement in the charging speed.
- Plug in your phone with a charger that came with the phone. Do not try to charge using the laptop or computer as this is rated very low compared to the wall charger.
- Let it be charged till the red LED right gets on. It will take around 20 minutes. Do not unplug the charger. Now press the power button for few seconds to turn the phone on. If your phone stays unresponsive, then press and hold the power, volume up and volume down buttons altogether for few minutes, say 1-5 minutes. By doing this process the battery is re-calibrated, and it allows to power on the phone. The process is not tough, and you can easily fix HTC One not charging or turning on the issue by going through the above steps.
- If you have tried all the above fixes but still the phone is not charging or is not turning on, it might be a fault of the battery and battery replacement is the solution in that case.

I have an HTC J Z321e, phone plays up alot.Sometimes when I pressed power button, phone can switch on for 1/2 an hour or so,sometimes only for 10 seconds or less. What would be the problem?I need help asap
Thank you sooo much! I am getting my braces tomorrow and needed to order the uber! I really needed this. It really helped!!!!
Thank you so much. this is so helpful.
Thank you.
In some HTC phones like mine(htc 820g+), we need to press all three buttons to restart… ie vol up, vol down and power button
I had a similar problem except my phone would only charge if I tilted the charger a certain way. I was sure it was a loose connection in the phone or with my charger. I tried all of the steps above with no luck. I then tried inserting a small piece of aluminum foil to see if the connection was loose, no luck. Then I took a toothpick and scraped a TON of black junk off of the metal connection strip in the phone and it works perfectly now. I don’t have to wiggle the charger to get the light to come on and it is charging way faster than before. Hope this works for someone else.
Thanks for sharing.
Same. thanks.
Thanks! Didn’t work the first time but on the second attempt it popped on, apparently already fully charged.
If nothing worked for you then I think it’s a battery problem. Battery replacement is the solution in that case but before that I would suggest to contact a technician.
My phone still lighting red after all these steps what I have to do.
Went through all the steps above still no response, led light isn’t coming on or charger icon, any other solutions
same as mine.. how? help please.. thanks
Great! Thank you !
It worked! Mine did the exact same thing
It worked for me. Just held the [Volume Up + Volume Down + Power Button] for 20-30 seconds, selected the “Reboot” option, and the phone restarted and turned on. My phone appeared at 87% in battery which was strange, but it worked so that’s all that matters. Thanks A. Bera!
Thank you !
