Firefox and Adobe Flash Player Blocking Profile Issues and Fixes

Firefox is one of the most popular browsers out there, on both mobile and desktop platforms. Today we will talk about an issue that was encountered by the user PhoenixReborn from Reddit.

“After a bad crash I reinstalled windows and grabbed an older Firefox profile backup. Everything is working fine except grubhub.com. I get a white page with a red bar. Disabling add-ons and safe mode does not fix the problem but creating a new profile or launching the tab in private mode loads the site just fine. 53.0.3 (32-bit) on Windows 10 64 bit,” said PhoenixReborn.

It seems that there is a simple fix for this issue, which caspy7 has mentioned in the Reddit forums. According to him, you need to “forget” the specific website that loads incorrectly on Firefox. This can be done by pressing CLTR+H, right clicking on the specific website and then selecting the “Forget about the site” option.

According to caspy7, once you do this, all history items and related offline storage for the specific website will be cleared. In addition, if a website doesn’t load properly, you can use incognito mode and see if that works. In case the website loads without any issues while in incognito mode, then you will need to “forget” the website and it will load properly in the normal window of Firefox.

The developers are currently working on the Firefox version 55, which is expected to be released sometime in August 2017. Once this version of Firefox will be released, Flash Player will automatically be blocked and you will need to manually enable it if you still want to use it.

The Flash Player has already started being replaced by HTML5 and it is just a matter of time until most of the websites will stop using the tool developed by Adobe.
