The Apple Watch Series 4 has been launched by Apple no sooner than one month ago. It has not been long, and the benefits of it start to hit in. This smartwatch has been considerably improved compared to its predecessor both out and inside. An additional and one of the most intriguing features is the fall detection. As its names suggest, in case you are the victim of a hard fall the watch will detect it and then do as it should. A Swedish publication tells us the story of a man, Gustavo Rodriguez, who was saved thanks to its Apple Watch Series 4 which detected the fall and notified the emergency services. The victim was cooking over a stove while an excruciating pain struck.
How the Apple Watch Series 4 Saved a Man With Acute Back Pain Via the Fall Detection Feature
The pain came out of nowhere while Gustavo Rodrigues was caught cooking over a stove. The unexpected discomfort and unbearable pain made him collapse on the floor while the stove was still working. That was the moment when his smartwatch knew what to do. Once an unexpected fall occurred, it called the emergency services.
Gustavo Rodrigues is 34 years old and fell paralyzed to the kitchen floor because of a sudden back pain. He said that the pain felt like a knife in his back. Luckily, his watch did not miss the chance to save him.
The man could only crawl to the living room and then on the couch, but the phone was not anywhere between reach. He used his Apple Watch to call for someone to turn the stove off and then he was brought to the hospital where he was administered a morphine injection.
