How To Export And Import Contacts In Gmail
It is a possibility to export contacts from Gmail to a special file in CSV format. You choose what you want to save – your contacts from a special group, all or random. It sounds complicated, but it is actually quite simple, just follow the instructions:
Sign in to your Gmail account.
Click on Gmail button at the top-left corner of the screen.
In the drop-down menu, click on “Contacts” and wait until the next window opens.
Click on “More” on the left side of the window, and in the drop-down menu, select “Export”
Click on any group of contacts, choose which contacts you want to export and click on “More” button at the top.
From the drop-down menu, click on “Export”.
In a small window that appears, select the category of contacts you want to export and export format.
If you intend to use exported file on Google account, then select CSV format.
Then press “Export” button.
The system creates google.csv file and asks where you want to save it. Select the folder and confirm with the “Save” button.
If you are importing contacts from another Gmail mailbox, you need google.csv file that was exported as in the previously described procedure.
To import contacts, follow these instructions:
Go to the “Contacts”.
In the menu on the left, click on “Import” button.
In the next window, click on the link “Choose File”, find CSV file on your computer and press “Import” button.
