If you started to use Opera recently, one of the questions you probably have is  how to export bookmarks from Opera web browser, and to move it to another browser. If you used Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome before, then you know you can easily find the bookmarks manager, and export bookmarks into HTML file in order to import the file later into Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. As it turned out, this function is not available in Opera and it is not possible to export bookmarks to HTML or other common formats. How To Export Bookmarks From Opera Web Browser

This export method consists of the creation the HTML file which can be imported later into another browser. If you want to export the bookmarks and import it to Opera (for example, you want to reinstall Windows on your computer), then you can use this simple and fast way to do it.

First you need to enter this address „https://addons.opera.com/en/“ into the address bar. Type in the search field „Bookmarks Import & Export“ and click on the desired extension and install it by pressing on „Add to Opera“.

Once installed, in the top-right corner of the browser there will be a new icon, and when you press on it, you will see the screen with available import and export buttons.

Press “Export” button and the file will appear as „Bookmarks.html“ in Opera “Downloads” folder, and it is a file that you can import into any browser.

This HTML file can be easily imported in any browser. The import process of this file from Opera is the same in almost all browsers and usually can be found in the bookmarks settings.

  1. Poorly designed. Export does not give filename or directory destination option. Uses file name Bookmarks.html in Downloads. Choose file does not change this. Probably overwrites the existing file as well
