iPhone fans were in for a huge surprise. Soon after the official release of the Phoenix V3 iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak, the creator of this version came up on Twitter and announced he will be releasing a new untethered jailbreak soon. The current version, even though it’s great, it’s not untethered.
In fact, you could say it’s more of a semi-tethered jailbreak. This means that every time you reboot the device, you have to run the jailbreak again. Moreover, you have to run it every 7 days regardless of rebooting. It’s not very convenient, but at least it’s a solution.
A Temporary Solution
Besides being imperfect, now it seems that it’s also a temporary solution. This was meant to keep the jailbreaking community busy until the creator, who goes by the user @pr0x13 on Twitter, will finish the untethered version. You may not be so impressed by this news, if you’re not a fan of jailbreaking. However, this community is happy to hear the news about an untethered jailbreak for iOS 9.3.5 arriving soon.
A Changing Market
There are plenty of challenges which jailbreakers have to face. At one point, statistics have shown that 10% of all the iPhones existing on the market are jailbroken. However, this isn’t the case anymore. Hackers are finding it harder and harder to breach Apple’s security. With every new version, Apple is closing down more and more vulnerabilities.
What’s more, the jailbreaking market has been in decline, compared to the end of the 2000s. Usually, hackers released the tools and exploits for everybody to use. Many people got rich then. However, the industry has been declining, with Apple allowing less and less breaches. What’s more, the tech company included pretty much all the features that you could previously obtain only if you jailbroke the phone.
