Have you thought about buying a laptop and are unsure what to choose? The market is definitely full of options for everyone’s budget thanks to the incredible technological boost that we have noticed in the last ten years. Almost anyone can own a pretty good laptop nowadays, and doesn’t have to pay too much for it either. But if you’ve got a decent amount of money to spend (around the thousand dollar mark), then here are the two best options for you: the Dell XPS 13 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop.
Both laptops cost about the same, and are pretty good contenders. But which one is the best? Keep reading to find out. We’ll now compare the two laptops in their non-touchscreen versions. If you want to pay a little extra for a more advanced type of technology, then you should consider the touchscreen versions instead, but we’ll leave those for some other time and some other comparison.
Specs: Dell XPS 13
The Dell XPS 13 costs 949 dollars, and it offers pretty good specs for it. The laptop has a 13.3-inch screen with a 1920×1080 pixel infinity display. It has a CPU of 256GB and runs on 8GB of RAM. It also has a soft-touch keyboard deck and an aluminum lid, and it comes in either Silver or Rose Gold, but you have to pay 50 dollars extra for the Rose Gold variant.
Specs: Microsoft Surface Laptop
One the other hand, we have the Microsoft Surface Laptop, which is a bit more expensive at its price point of 999 dollars. And while it does have a slightly bigger screen of 13.5 inches with a resolution of 2256×1504 pixels and it supports touch input, its hardware is a bit lacking compared to the Dell. The Microsoft Surface Laptop runs on only 4GB of RAM, and has a CPU of just 128GB. Boo!
