More recently, Youtube has released officially its new aesthetical changes and they are much easier to set-up than the older method. This comes in parallel with Google’s attempts at making the various platforms much more simple and minimalistic. In the latest Creators Update, Windows 10 Blue Light Filter has been released with the aim of improving your efficiency when working during the night.
As for the Dark Mode that Youtube has released, the simplest way to access it is by going on the https://www.youtube.com/new link and click the Try Now prompt. Afterwards, your Youtube will be converted to the newer version and you will be able to go on your profile icon and hit the Dark Mode setting to turn it on. This comes in sharp contrast to the older method, which while not overly complicated, it’s still takes longer than the current one.
The older method had been originally discovered by a Reddit user, who has also shared it with everyone else.
Activating Dark Mode will have a few differences depending on the system you are using, namely if you are on a Mac or a PC. But to begin with, you will need to make sure that your Chrome version is at 57, at least. Once that is ensured, go to your Chrome Developer menu, CTRL-SHIFT-I fro Windodws and Optin-Command-I for Mac. This can also be done by just accessing the dev menu from Chrome’s own menu. Following that, you will have to go to the Console tab and input the following code: document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE”
After that, you will hint Enter and it should all be set. To make sure that it worked, close down the Console and refresh your Youtube page. You will automatically notice that some subtle changes have been made, but if you want to switch to the Dark Mode, you will have to go to your icon and hit the Dark Mode: Off button to switch it on.
