As you already know Comcast is a cable service that you can’t easily cancel. They would fight with every bone in their body just to keep us as their clients. If you’re planning to do so, the easiest thing should be to just move somewhere they don’t provide the service. You could follow the next tips we gathered from people on the internet.
Tell a Simple and Believable Story
Before calling Comcast, set a right story like ‘I’m moving to a new city and there is internet out there’, or ‘I’m moving with my partner and they have service’. This should work just fine, as they won’t do much research to check if you’re lying or not.
Contact Customer Service
You can either call the customer service or if you don’t want to wait you can also email the cancellation and wait for them to call you.
Record the Call
Record your call and if the cancellation is not made, you can show it to a representative and save a lot more time than trying to explain what you’ve been previously told.
Keep Your Story Simple
Don’t tell them more information of where you’re moving. You can also say that you don’t know your future address or other information. They will want to forward the last bill to your new address but you can also pay it online.
If you’re still under contract, you will have to pay a penalty for cancelling the service. Check if that’s the case and when it expires. If it expired, then you will not have to pay any penalty.
Try Telling the Truth
You could also feel like you’ve reached an understanding representative and tell them the truth. They will probably try to convince you that you need their service, but you might get rid of it after all. If that doesn’t work, then call again and tell the other representative the ‘moving’ story.
