Bixby is Samsung’s new voice assistant for S8 and S8 Plus that is looking to take the place of Google Assistant. With Bixby Samsung are doing their best to make their one AI agent just like Siri from Apple, Cortana or Alexa.

Even though its launch has been delayed for a long time in the US, now after all the English stage rules issues have been resolved, Bixby voice is finally officially available in USA. Samsung had released a Bixby early access app for those of you who did not have the patience. Also Samsung will reward S8 users that access Bixby for help.

So what exactly can Bixby do for us is turning on the flashlight, take a selfie, creating a new photo album, taking a screenshot. For now Bixby works with a lot of Samsung’s main apps, but in the next weeks and months Samsung will integrate all of its apps from Android. But if you want to play and integrate new apps by yourself, Bixby Labs will allow you to experiment with YouTube, Facebook, Play Music, Google Maps, and a lot more.

If you are on one of the main USA’s mobile networks like Sprint, Verizon or AT&T press the Bixby button to install new voice updates that are around 44,7MB. For the unlock models there aren’t yet any mentions, unfortunately from what it seam Samsung tends to exclude them from this.

Samsung has set up a rewards system to encourage S8 owners to use Bixby. You will earn XP by using Bixby for sending messages or making call or even to give feedback via Bixby. The XP system is available until Sep. 14th and you can convert it into Samsung Rewards points that can use for Samsung Pay.
