Here are six more or less known Android features to help you get the most out of your device.

  1. Activating Guest Mode

This is a less restricting alternative for when you want to share your device. You just have to enable Android’s native guest account. The guest profile will be able to do pretty much the same things as the owner’s device. Your files and messages from your account will be safe on the other hand. You just have to go to the user’s section and create a guest account.

  1. Backup photos and videos

You can now backup all of your photos and videos for free. You just need the Google Photos app on your Android device. Enable Back up & Sync from the app settings.

  1. Screen pinning

This was initially introduced as a way to lock your device’s screen to a particular app. The feature is useful concerning privacy situations. If this is not enabled by default, all you have to do to enable it is to go to the security menu from your device’s settings and enable the feature.

  1. Multi-Window support

For using this feature you have to long-press the square soft key while you’re in an app. The screen will split in half: one half will display the active app and the other, the recently used apps. If you tap one of them, it will load on the other half of the screen.

  1. Managing notifications

You can manage them one by one. For instance, when an undesired notification pops up, you have to long-press it and select the information icon. You will be able to disable future notifications for that particular app.

  1. Installing new apps from the PC’s browser

Android is very integrated with Google services, including the Play Store. You just have to log in with the same Google account to both your PC and phone and then you can browse the Play Store for managing and installing new apps from your PC’s browser.
