ASUS Confirms Android 9 Pie Update For Asus Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone Max Pro M1

The Asus Zenfone 5Z and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 have grabbed the attention of the cell phone users worldwide and the only downside one can think of right now is the software update which is due for some time. However, it seems that the wait is going to be finally over with the company announcing that the devices are slated to get the software update latest by 2019. While the users of Zenfone 5Z can receive the update somewhere around January 2019, those using ZenFone Max Pro M1 may have to wait another month before receiving the update. The company is yet to announce the exact dates of the update as it may differ region wise and is likely to be carried out in different phases. Due to the strong sale of these devices in India, the company is likely to provide an impetus to this factor and release the update before.

During the announcement of the Android 9.0 Pie update for ZenFone Max Pro M1 that came during the launch of ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2, Dinesh Sharma, Asus India Head Mobile Business said that the company has stayed firm with its promise to the customers about the delivery of Pie update and right now the work is in active progress. During the same event, he also announced the plans of the company to roll out the update for ZenFone 5Z. More importantly, the newly released ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2 may also receive the Pie update in January sometime after the rollout of the update for ZenFone 5Z. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 has just been released in India. The features of the phone especially the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and the chipset is definitely going to spruce up this device but there is a lot of watch out for right now.

How to get Android Pie for your phone?

As soon as the software update is ready for your device, you will receive a notification that it can be downloaded on your device. However, if you fail to receive the notification, you can download it manually. All that you have got to do is to visit Settings ->System and click ‘System Update’. The users of these devices are recommended to use Wi-Fi connection during the download as the Android update may consume a few GB of your data.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 was launched in April 2018 to beat its competitor Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, this was not all as the company added a 6 GB RAM variant to the device along with the twin options of 3 and 4 GB RAM. Apart from this, the RAM models also included the EIS video support during the month of October to deliver an experience for the users which is equally top-grade as the 6GB variant. This update of October was succeeded by a few improvisations carried out in the software of the camera. The ZenFone 5Z came to India in June 2018 and the company is expected to launch its successor in June next year. Both these devices offer good value for price to the customers.
