In the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote, Apple will reportedly emphasize three major topics, making it one of the company's longest-ever events. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the keynote will feature the announcement of "several" new Mac models, Apple's mixed-reality headset, and a range of significant updates to its operating systems.

While rumors specifically mention the introduction of an all-new 15-inch MacBook Air model, the other potential Mac models to be unveiled remain uncertain. Last week, Gurman suggested that the Mac Studio, 13-inch M2 MacBook Air, and 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro could be eligible for trade-in on the day of the event, indicating the possibility of a refresh for at least one of these machines. Although there are reports of the development of 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with the M3 chip, their release is anticipated towards the end of the year.

Notably, Apple introduced the Mac Studio in May 2022, featuring configurations with the M1 Max and M1 Ultra chips. Despite the release of various Macs with the M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max chips, the Mac Studio has not yet received an update. Gurman believes that two new Mac Studio models are in development, although their launch timeline remains uncertain. However, Gurman has previously expressed skepticism about an update announcement at WWDC, suggesting that Apple may wait until the M3 generation to avoid cannibalizing the Apple silicon Mac Pro. Nonetheless, the possibility of updated Mac Studio models with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chip options being revealed at WWDC is still plausible.

While the Apple silicon Mac Pro is another potential announcement, Gurman stated in an episode of The MacRumors Show podcast earlier this year that although he expects the new Mac Pro to debut in 2023, it is unlikely to be unveiled at WWDC.

Considering the extensive lineup of announcements expected at WWDC, Gurman anticipates that the keynote will surpass two hours, making it one of Apple's longest events to date. Last year's WWDC keynote lasted approximately one hour and 50 minutes, featuring the introduction of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9, the M2 chip, a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Pro, and the redesigned MacBook Air.
