In a significant update, iOS 17 is rumored to bring a long-awaited enhancement to the Wallet app on iPhones. Evidence suggesting this change has emerged, indicating that the update will be introduced within a few hours.

According to renowned journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple plans to extend the capabilities of its Wallet app to include other credit card companies in the upcoming iOS 17. The objective is to grant these credit cards, which support Apple Pay, similar privileges to those enjoyed by the Apple Card. This includes the ability to view credit card balances directly from within the Wallet app.

Apple has taken a notable step by adding a Wallet category to its Apple Business Register website for the first time. Previously, the website solely listed categories such as Messages, Health, and Maps.

This development implies that credit card companies will now have the opportunity to prepare for integrating their card balances with the Wallet app in the near future.

While the first demonstration of iOS 17 is set to take place today, the final release is expected to become available to the public in September. By opening up registration after the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), credit card companies can now commence the necessary preparations for integrating their services with the Wallet app ahead of the official launch of iOS 17.

Please note that the information provided is based on rumors and official confirmation from Apple is still pending.
