After presenting the offers for the new iPad Pro with 9.7-inches screen and the iPhone SE, Apple will continue with a refresh of its MacBooks series, this time with 13″ and 15″ screens, and thinner than the current ones.
Described by the Chinese portal DigiTimes as ‘ultra thin’, these new portables will make the transition to Intel’s Skylake platform, and are to receive faster and more efficient processors in terms of energy consumption. On the short list of the facilities, Apple might also include a SSD from the Optane series, created using memory chips with 3D XPoint technology, superior to the NAND Flash ones that are currently used.
The new MacBooks could also receive a new engine for voice recognition called TrulyHandsfree. Provided with a dedicated processor, implemented at the hardware level, the new engine for voice recognition will be more efficient in terms of energy consumption and could be permanently active, opening new options for using Siri.
According to current information, the new MacBook might be presented this summer, possibly during WWDC event organized by Apple during June 13-17.
